Kee
Fatt Industries Sdn Bhd, initially a family-business and now an
established Malaysian-Japanese joint-venture manufacturing corporation,
has been supplying the market with its rubber-based Power Transmission
Belts for over three decades.
Its
Power Transmission Belts, with wide-usage in the automotive, industrial
and agricultural sectors, clearly testifies to two significant success
factors. Firstly, it illustrates the prosperous niche that the Company
has found for itself. Secondly, it indicates the technological and
managerial capability that the Company has developed, clearly putting
substance to the nation's drive for a genuine Malaysian-made product.
Kee
Fatt Industries is the first and only rubber-based Power Transmission
Belts manufacturer in Malaysia. The Company took a challenging road
to earning industry-wide recognition. In 1988, the Company became
the first rubber product manufacturer in Malaysia to win the Japanese
Industrial Standards (JIS) Quality Management Certification. Also
to its credit are two other hard-earned quality certifications including
the Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM)
Product Certification License (1985) and the ISO 9002 Quality Management
Certification (1997).
The
Company's products, manufactured and marketed under the licensed
names of BANDO and MAKO, are very well established and recognised
in both the replacement and Original Equipment Manufacturers market.
Kee
Fatt Industries is one of the earliest and most recognised landmarks
in Kulai, a fast-expanding industrial township in the Malaysian
state of Johor where it is based. Its factory has over the years
been upgraded and expanded to cope with increasing job orders and
now has a workforce of some 300 employees.
Bando
Chemical Industries Ltd. of Japan is Kee Fatt's technical partner
and the strength behind this growing venture. This respected Japanese
counterpart continues to provide its support and training resources
to Kee Fatt's employees, effecting a transfer of technology that
is truly reflective of the spirit of the Kee Fatt-Bando joint venture
and technical assistance agreements.
At
present, Kee Fatt Industries' greatest strength is its focus on
meeting customers' needs and specifications. With continual investment
in refining the Company's production with the latest machinery and
technical know-how, Kee Fatt Industries is determined to carry on
expanding its product range and upgrading its product quality.
Kee
Fatt Industries' present markets include the ASEAN countries, China,
Europe and the Middle East. With the domestic market growing by
leaps and bounds and a great growing potential in its export market,
Kee Fatt Industries is certainly geared to make further inroads
into both the domestic and overseas markets while continuing to
expand its outlets.
